Four stars because there is nothing better out there for the price. Some parts of it are quite shoddy, other parts are unnecessary and still others need to be checked by a professional technical writer who can proof read correctly and thoroughly. That being said, there is a lot of decent information in the book to be used by someone who is information starved and wants to do their own work on the car. This manual will be of a lot more help to someone who works on cars than someone who is not mechanical at all. These days, technical information about modern automobiles is treated as gold by the manufacturers and stingly doled out for a high cost to anyone outside of their trusted circle. Do an internet search for technical information and see what I mean.
There is a lot of decent information about brakes, etc and other routine tasks in the manual. The information about the Oxygen Sensor/Air Fuel Ratio Sensor(upstream, before catalytic convertor, position 1) and the Oxygen Sensor (downstream, after catalytic convertor, position 2) for a 2004 Toyota Camry made (assembled) in USA, (non Japanese), (non California emissions equipped)is sparse at best. A labled diagram of the layout of the location of the two components mentioned above in respect to the engine and catalytic convertors used in the exhaust system would have been of immense help to the reader in locating and identifying the proper type of Oxygen sensors and Oxygen sensor/Air Fuel Ratio Sensors. A simple table composed to illustrate the three types of vehicles above and their component (Oxygen Sensor) differences and locations could have helped immensely.
I used to write complex technical manuals for a Government contractor for the Air Force and the Navy. The level of expertise and effort used to write the Haynes manual is just plain mediocore compared to the manuals I had to compose.
All that being spewed out, You can not find anything else useful for the price Amazon charges for the Haynes manual. Good Luck.

This is the best Manual for repairs that I have found. The pictures help and there is a few pages in the front to help you troubleshoot any problems. Very well written and easy to understand.
