Big improvement in sound quality over my factory radio. Improves the look of my interior though I am a little bashful about driving around with such a large, colorful screen in my car especially at night. I have 15% tint with a black interior so my car should be pretty dark. Even on the lowest dim setting (there are 3 total), the screen lights up my interior. Guess I didn’t realize how big a 7″ screen would be in there either but it’s pretty surprising. Some people would like that though. USB, A/V, DVD, bluetooth (music and phone), radio work great. DVD music has a bit of learning curve but it’s useful once you get it. DVD movies play fine. Haven’t used NAVI (I have Navi on my phone) or Ipod (I heard the ipod feature is a joke so I didn’t buy the cable). I downloaded 50 pics from my usb drive to the stereo so far. The screen resolution isn’t very good, though it’s fine for DVD movies. But you will notice it’s a bit lacking if you load pics to it for your screensaver. You can also change the brightness, tint, contrast and saturation. Audio settings are kind of bland. EQ- treble and bass, and sub woofer volume control. 3 EQ settings- Jazz, Pop, Rock.
I recommend for those that want a very nice unit and don’t want to spend 3x as much for a ‘brand name.’ Though, a brand name may get you higher screen resolution (I guess).

Another reviewer said that it’s annoying because it doesn’t have a knob for the volume, which is the main problem with this unit. You have to either use the remote or locate the volume picture on the screen, then press it EXACTLY on the up or down pic or the volume menu will go away. Pretty annoying.

Also, be prepared to do some fabricating when you go to install. As others have mentioned, this is not a single DIN that you can just slap into your DIN slot. You will likely need to break out the dremel or go to a shop or something to install. The unit (not the screen part) fits fine in the DIN but it sits too far back and the screen won’t go on unless you cut out your center console to fit it in. Make sure you want to take that responsibility on before buying.

Purchased this unit because after a ton of research and searching it was the only device that would come close to fitting in my 2007 Mitsubishi Raider (Dodge Dakota). The factory radio is a very odd size – 1.5 DIN with offset volume and selector knobs. I didn’t want a motorized 1 DIN device. I wanted a static screen. There were no 1.5 DIN touch screen devices with NAVI. Here are my thoughts on the unite after 3 weeks of usage…

      - The biggest disappointment was the lack of XM support! This thing does everything, but was floored that it doesn’t support XM either internally or via an external brain. I emailed Power Acoustik and asked them and they didn’t specify it was even on their road map. I ended up purchasing a “XM XDRC2V1 XM XpressRCi” and connect it to the AV inputs in the back.

      - Second biggest disappointment is the iPod interface. It ONLY shows current song playing information and forward and back controls. NO way to scroll through songs, choose play lists, artwork etc… This is standard on other devices.

      - Screen resolution is OK, not great but ok. DVDs look good, but other interface graphics are choppy and rough and not anti-aliased very well.

      - Lack of external volume controls. i.e. buttons or dial. Major pain when in NAVI screens and need to adjust volume. Have to escape back to main interface then select columns and make adjustment, then escape back to NAVI. In the case of adjusting volume a lot like me, this is a major pain in the butt.

      - NAVI: Navigating to the navi screen WITHOUT disabling the audio was very tricky to find! Not documented either. When on your audio and you want to switch to NAVI and not loose your music, you must press and hold the NAVI button on the right side of the screen until you see it begin to switch over. Your audio will lower a tad (apparently a safety thing). The to switch back to audio, do the same.

      - NAVI: there is a feedback “beep” when you push screen buttons int the NAVI interface. Even after turning off the NAVI volume and disabling the “tone” it still beeps. Bug.

      - NAVI: Would be great to have a sub-screen or flyout when in NAVI mode of audio information. Like song playing etc…

      - iPod or iPhone: The IC-1 cable they tell you to buy doesn’t charge iPhones. Seem to work with my older iPods though.

      - Device did NOT fit in a single DIM with my trim OOTB. It required me to use my dremmel and carve out a 1/16 inch on the left and right side of my trucks trim face plate and then mount the unit out about 1/4 inch further than default. It was sitting too far back in the chassis and the face plate would not snap on. So you may need to get creative.

All in all like I said beggars cant be choosers, but its an ok device with room for improvement. You can’t beet the price on the head unit! But the NAVI is about twice as much as it should be. So it evens out.

OK, this item looks beautiful, outstanding stats, the only problem is it does not fit most vehicles….specifically, the BMW. The set-up of the face either covers the AC unit or the control unit and unless your vehicle dash is straight up and down (vertical), it will not fit properly. You will have the external portion of your stereo exposed. Amazon took it back and I ordered the flip face, I will have to let everyone know how that turns out.

Also…don’t get the GPS you cannot play audio and do the GPS at the same time…this is quite disappointing.
