Headaches While Eating Ice Cream, What is the reason?

Ice CreamICE cream certainly refreshing to eat in times of scorching days. Unfortunately, some people immediately felt a headache when licking snack on this one.

Headaches when eating ice cream usually occur within seconds or at most a few minutes late after eating it. Basically, a headache like this not only applies to ice cream, but all meals and drinks are really cool.

So, what causes a headache after eating ice cream? This relates to the nerve receptors in the ceiling of your mouth. When you bite of ice cream, partially touching the ceiling.Which in turn triggers the nerves to “be cool” on the fly.

Nerves send emergency messages to the brain that the palate must accept the cold, and makes the blood vessels in the brain to shrink to accommodate the message.When ice cream is up in the mouth, warm blood rushing through the veins, you also got a headache!

How to cope

To shorten the pain when eating ice cream, you can touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth and hold it for a few seconds. This method is useful to warm the palate and soothe the brain reactions.

In order to no longer feel a headache, try eating cold foods or drinks more slowly than usual and keep the ice cream from the roof of your mouth when eating it, if you can. So now, no need to fear a headache when enjoying your favorite ice cream.
